Overview

The Construction Work Training program is designed to provide workers with essential knowledge and practical skills to perform construction activities safely and efficiently in compliance with occupational health and safety standards. This foundational course emphasizes hazard awareness, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe work practices, and understanding site-specific risks in various construction environments.

Objectives

Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:
Understand the roles and responsibilities of workers in the construction industry.
Recognize common hazards on construction sites and implement safe work practices.
Use PPE correctly and maintain basic site hygiene and safety.
Follow proper procedures for working at heights, excavation, scaffolding, and material handling.
Respond appropriately to site emergencies and follow communication protocols.

Roles and responsibilities under health & safety
Site access and permit-to-work systems
Personal protective equipment (PPE)
Manual handling and material storage
Working at heights safety
Excavation and trenching hazards
Electrical and machinery safety
Scaffolding basics and safe use
Emergency response and first aid basics
Housekeeping and site environmental controls

Duration

1 to 2 Days (depending on customization and site requirements)

Certification

Participants will complete a short assessment and practical demonstration. A Certificate of Completion will be awarded, valid for 1 or 2 years depending on regional standards.

Prerequisites:

None. Basic literacy is helpful but not mandatory.
