Overview

The Flagman/Banksman Training is designed to provide participants with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to guide and assist crane and vehicle operators during lifting operations and vehicle movements. The course emphasizes safety communication, proper hand signals, and hazard awareness to prevent accidents in busy or restricted work zones such as construction sites, factories, and logistics yards.

Objectives

Upon completion of the training, participants will be able to:
Understand the key responsibilities and legal duties of a flagman/banksman.
Identify and control hazards associated with vehicle and crane operations.
Use standardized hand and radio signals effectively for safe vehicle maneuvering and crane operations.
Maintain clear communication with operators in line with site procedures.
Implement safe practices to avoid incidents during reversing and lifting activities.

Signaling methods (hand signals, radio use, whistle signals)
Safe reversing and maneuvering procedures

Certification

Participants will undergo a theory assessment and a practical evaluation. Upon successful completion, they will receive a Certificate of Competency valid for 1 year.

Basic understanding of workplace safety; no prior experience required.
